Well, of course we have the whole "beating on pots and pans at 2 years old thing", but actually, Buddy's first musical-obsession (though never one followed through with) was the Saxophone. At around 14 years old, Buddy decided to join the school band. At the auditions/instrument selection meeting, Buddy was fascinated with the idea of the Saxophone. However, fortunately for him, his mother had other plans in store. After being brutally beaten by his mother for over 4 hours, and imprisoned in the basement for six days with no food or drink other than a few pieces of stale bread and a dusty glass of water that had been down in that dingy, cold, wet basement for years, he agreed to play Drums instead. Ok, actually this guy came down from an old company called "The Music Room", and during the audition, tested him (at his mother's "suggestion" ) in his four-way coordination skills and Buddy was convinced that he would be better-suited for the drums as well.

After 15 years, that decision has stuck with Buddy throughout a list of musical accomplishments he can finally begin being proud of. With an early acceptance to marching band, making for a total of 4 years with the school band Buddy decided to take lessons with the local drum shop. After his first band, a punk band named "The Spooks" gave him his first examples of what it's like to play music in a live setting and he was hooked. A few years later he joined a mostly-cover-but-some-originals band called "Vapid" that played everything from "Heard it Through the Grapevine" to Fear Factory's "Scapegoat" with some great young local musicians.

Later, Buddy went on to graduate from the Atlanta Institute of Music in 2007. There he studied with Tom Knight, Creig Harber, and Jack Jones to further develop his rudimental core drumming skills along with most of the major styles of music, reading/charting, odd meter, live performance, click, music business, and recording/video editing. During his time there, he also played with local musician MichaelCSmith and Bud Harris (former Vapid member) recording a full length album with Michael. A few months after completing courses at AIM, Buddy joined a touring local band for a 24 show tour of the east coast, everywhere from Manhattan and Brooklyn to Miami, eventually playing over 30 shows with the band.

Now playing again with MichaelCSmith after the release of his new album, continuing his musical education with periodic lessons with Tom Knight and Jack Jones and working towards the completion of a Major in Music at Gainesville College and State University, Buddy continues his pursuit of the never-ending tail of music.
